It is very disappointing that the Government has turned down the Ford End Bridge and link road scheme as part of the Housing Infrastructure Fund.

Had the bid been successful it would have reduced the constant congestion that has blighted the Midland Road area. I will be looking to meet with the Minister to discuss alternative funding opportunities, particularly given that the East West rail plans will run through Bedford.
