BBC

The current crisis has underlined the importance of the BBC as a public service broadcaster. However, even during this crisis the government is looking for ways to cut its funding. The BBC is performing the vital services of informing us of the latest developments, educating us about new government schemes and entertaining us through isolation.

The government is currently consulting on decriminalising non-payment of the licence fee. This would cost the BBC around £200 million a year in lost fees. This would make it a lot harder for the BBC to continue to produce the quality content that it currently does.

If you think our independent public service broadcaster should be protected at a time a national emergency then please visit www.ourbbc.co.uk and take 5 minutes to fill out a consultation response.
