No one should be asked to work if they are not providing an essential function – Rebecca Long-Bailey

Rebecca Long-Bailey MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, commenting on the need for the government to provide clarity on working measures, said:

“The government needs to urgently provide clearer guidance on who should be working and who shouldn’t. No one should be asked to work if they are not providing an essential function in this crisis.

“The government also needs to give everyone, including the self-employed, agency workers and those on zero-hour contracts, the financial support they need to stay at home, to protect their own health and the health of others.”
