No recourse to Public Funds

I welcomed the measures announced by the chancellor last Friday to protect employees wages by up to 80%. However these measures did not go far enough in protecting some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

People with no recourse to public funds (NRPF) have been given no assurances by the government that their incomes will be protected during the current crisis. This crisis has meant a sudden and dramatic drop in their incomes. Which is why I am calling on the Government to urgently clarify the status of NRPF individuals and provide clear guidance to local authorities on what provisions are available to them.
