Lisa Nandy MP, Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary, responding to President Trump’s decision to halt funding to the World Health Organization, said:

“President Trump’s cynical decision to play politics and to try to deflect blame for his handling of the pandemic in his own country puts us all at risk. We can only end this crisis here if we work together to end it everywhere.

“As COVID19 has ripped across continents it has exposed our interdependence like never before. Now is the moment we must redouble our commitment to global cooperation. The Foreign Secretary should be leading a coordinated response to strengthen our international institutions and stop them from being undermined.”
