John Healey MP, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary, responding to the Government’s refusal to release a report on their decision to give a Royal Navy shipbuilding contract to an overseas firm, said:
“Tory Ministers’ refusal to release this report raises fresh fears they’re going to send more vital shipbuilding jobs overseas.
“With unemployment rising, the Ministry of Defence should be spending and building in the UK to help support British jobs. The Government should release this report, and commit to building future Royal Navy ships in British shipyards.”
