Jo Stevens MP, Labour’s Shadow Digital, Culture, Media & Sports Secretary, responding to new guidelines for safe TV production, said:
“This is good news for the sector and for viewers up and down the country. The lockdown really has reinforced how important good quality TV is to our daily lives and wellbeing.
“It’s vital that the safety and wellbeing of production crew is put first and individual companies will need to ensure this happens. It’s also clear that not everyone will be able to return to work straight away.
“In the meantime, Labour again urges the Government to ensure that those who can’t to return to work have access to financial support from the Government. Too many in our creative industries have fallen through the gaps in the support schemes available.”
